Helping DFC Foods Become a Brand People Discover Online.

DFC Foods

DFC Foods has spent years building a trusted food business across western Nepal. Known for products like rice, atta, chiura, and soya chunks, the brand has earned its reputation through quality and its philosophy of Directly From Community.

As more people began discovering brands online, DFC wanted its digital presence to better reflect the business it had already built.

Over the next seven and a half months, Viewfinders partnered with DFC to strengthen its social media presence through strategy, content production, and platform management.

The goal wasn't simply to publish more content. It was to help more people discover the brand and understand what makes it different.

The Opportunity

A strong business deserves a strong digital presence. DFC already had quality products, loyal customers, and years of trust within its core markets. What it needed was a more consistent way to introduce the brand to people discovering it online.

Instead of treating social media as another place to advertise products, we saw it as an opportunity to tell a bigger story. Not just what DFC sells. But who they are, how they work, and what Directly From Community looks like in practice.

What People Already Knew

  • Quality products
  • Trusted regional brand
  • Strong community roots

What More People Could Discover

  • Everyday recipes
  • The people behind the business
  • The production journey
  • Stories from the community

Our Starting Point

Before planning content, we wanted to understand the business. We spent time with the DFC team, learning about the company, reviewing its existing communication, and identifying stories that already existed but weren't being shared consistently online.

That became the foundation of the project. Not creating new stories. Finding the ones that would help more people discover the brand.

The next question was simple. Which stories would help people understand DFC best?

Finding the Stories Worth Telling

Every business has stories. The challenge is deciding which are worth telling consistently. As we got to know DFC, we saw that the brand had much more to offer than product promotions alone. Recipes, the people behind the company, the production process, and the communities connected to the brand all had a role to play.

Instead of trying to say everything in every post, we gave each story its own place.

🚀 Next PhaseBOFUWith awareness and trust established, the next phase will focus on campaigns that help turn familiarity into business outcomes.

During the first seven and a half months, our primary focus was building the top and middle of the funnel. As DFC continues expanding into new markets, the next phase will focus on strengthening the bottom of the funnel.

Bringing People Into the Brand

Behind every business are people who shape it. People connect with people before they connect with companies.

Founder stories gave DFC a human voice by sharing the experiences, values, and thinking behind the business. Instead of speaking only through products, the brand also began speaking through the people building it.

This helped audiences understand not only what DFC produces, but why the company operates the way it does.

Opening the Doors

Most customers only see the final product. Factory visits, sourcing stories, and behind-the-scenes content showed what happens before the product reaches the shelf. These stories helped bring another side of the business into public view.

Letting the Community Speak

Some of the most meaningful stories already belonged to DFC's community. Customer experiences, farmer stories, and partner testimonials added another perspective to the brand. Rather than telling people what DFC stands for, we gave space to the people who experience it every day.

Building a Content Rhythm

Success didn't come from one viral post. It came from showing up consistently. Instead of chasing new ideas every week, we focused on building repeatable content formats. Recipes became a series. Founder conversations continued. Community stories grew over time.

What We Learned Along the Way

Every month gave us a better understanding of what people wanted to see. Rather than treating content as a fixed plan, we used audience response to refine what came next. Some formats naturally gained more attention, while others helped tell the brand story in different ways.

Over time, the strategy became less about creating more content and more about creating the right content consistently.

Different Stories Served Different Purposes

No single content format could represent the entire brand. Recipes showed the products. Founder stories added perspective. Behind-the-scenes content opened the business. Community stories brought in real experiences. Together, they painted a more complete picture of DFC than product posts alone ever could.

Consistency Beat Complexity

We didn't try to reinvent the content every month. Instead, we focused on publishing consistently and improving over time. The result wasn't just more content — it was a content library that continued growing with the brand.

Results

Seven and a half months of consistent storytelling produced measurable growth across DFC's social media presence.

Looking Back

This project reinforced something we see across many businesses. Good stories already exist. The challenge is finding them, telling them consistently, and learning from how people respond.

For DFC, those stories happened to be recipes, people, production, and community. For another business, they could be something completely different.

Over the first seven and a half months, our focus was helping more people discover DFC and better understand the brand behind the products. As the brand continues to grow, the next phase is to build on that foundation and help turn awareness and trust into stronger business outcomes.

The process always starts the same. Understand the business first. Create content second.
